Or your own doll's set?
HOW DID I START?
ReplyDeleteMy first dress making was at the age of 5 when my twin sister and I made capes and accessories for dolls, which I never played with, just dressed. By 7 we were making them complete outfits and by 8 our own skirts. By 11 my mother, who I will always be grateful for teaching us these skills, allowed us to buy our own material and make our own different clothes. As we were very different characters we loved this opportunity to show our individuality.
My abilities grew as the need for fashion, and new outfits grew, extending to men's as boyfriends, husband' and children's needs arose, and even pet coats.
I relished the opportunities to experiment, design and make prom, ball, wedding fancy dress, and other different outfits.
It is a pity I didn't have photos taken, and even now it's difficult to get any one to photograph what I make, but I do have a few.
Well yesterday I re-started an embroidery I commenced 20 years ago.
ReplyDeleteIt'll get me back into the stitching , so I can include it all in my art or fabrics in amn accomplished way. At least that's the idea.
Not very good at updating my blog, but I've handed a coat, and shortened 4 pairs trousers, taken another in, and reshaped another pair, and hemmed a bridesmaids dress, in the past couple of weeks for people in the village, for a donation to the Bangbutt/Youlgrave fund.
